Betty Hardwick Center is the Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority for Callahan, Jones, Shackelford, Stephens, and Taylor Counties. We began serving clients in 1971 and today we employ approximately 240 persons, and operate with a budget of almost $20 million.
We operate as a unit of local government, and have a Board of Trustees to oversee our operations. Our services include outpatient mental health services for children and adults, outpatient and residential services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and early childhood intervention services to babies ages 0 to 3 and their families.
