Mission Lexington was originally founded in 1978 by four churches as a way to serve individuals and families faced with limited resources and urgent needs. While our mission has remained the same, the exponential growth of our community has led to the growth of our physical plant, staff, programming, and volunteer force. As our community grows, so do the needs.
Mission Lexington is the hub of care for those in crisis in Lexington County. We assist families and individuals with life essentials (food, clothing, shelter), resources, and guidance. In 2023, we met over 39,161 needs in Lexington County ranging from rehousing a blended family of six to providing interview clothes to a dad trying to provide for his family. Our partner network includes local businesses, government agencies, corporations, organizations, individuals, and 63 member churches that help sustain our vision daily.
Mission Lexington has served the county from multiple locations over the years, moving as our needs have expanded. Today we offer a thriving thrift store, food pantry, mobile food pantry, donation center, social services, and administration offices at 216 Harmon Street in downtown Lexington, SC.
