Established in 1867, the men and women of the Springfield Police Division have proudly served the Springfield community for over 155 years. This commitment to service is reflected in the police division’s mission “To serve all people equally, with the highest degree of pride, professionalism, and personal integrity.”
With an authorized strength of 130 sworn officers, the Division is committed to providing a full range of police services. Patrol, Investigations, and Administrative subdivisions are structured to help our citizens in every possible way that we can.
The Police Division embraces the practices of Community-Oriented Policing, where officers and citizens work together as partners to make our communities safe places to live, work, and play.
