Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County was established in response to one of the least talked about problems faced by many individuals and families in the area- homelessness.

Founded in 2005, Friends of the Homeless is currently the area’s only homeless shelter. Since first opening its doors, the shelter has undergone a number of changes as it strives to meet the needs of the local homeless population. From expanding staff to providing a wide-range of self-improvement opportunities, Friends of the Homeless has provided over 100,000 bed nights to those in need.

With a simple mission- to assist individuals and families in a faith-based environment to attain stability and permanent housing- Friends of the Homeless not only provides emergency shelter to those experiencing homelessness and displacement, but also strives to provide them with the tools and services they need to find and retain employment and stable housing.
