The Wilkesboro Fire Department provides 24-hour protection to the 6.3 square miles and just over 3,575 residents of Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The department is made up of a full-time Chief, 4 full-time Captains, 1 full-time Fire Inspector / Marshall, 40+ Paid-On-Call & Part-time Firemen, and a very strong retired firefighter community.
We respond to over 1,000 emergencies annually including fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents, structural fires, and numerous other hazardous situations. We also respond to emergency medical calls with a highly trained team of Emergency Medical Technicians and Medical Responders.
