CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES ANGEL HOUSE – MOTHER/BABY RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM FOR TEENS

Angel House provides residential treatment and guidance for pregnant and parenting girls ages 13-18 who are under the supervision of the Michigan Department of Human Services. Angel House is contracted with MDHS to provide this service and the program consists of a three-tiered transitional continuum of care.

The first two tiers are nine to twelve months in duration during which time the program offers an intensive array of services geared toward meeting both the short-term and long-term needs of pregnant and parenting girls in foster care. Angel House provides:

Individualized education planning.
Independent living education and preparation.
Hands-on referral support for other needed services such as WIC, employment seeking, childcare, and transportation.
Support groups, including peer led and parenting education.
Access to mentors and tutors.
Family involvement including co-parenting outreach to fathers.
Coordination with the youth’s caseworker for service planning and monitoring.
Transitional service following discharge to ensure safety, wellbeing, and permanency.
