St. Luke’s Canyon View is an inpatient psychiatric facility for patients over the age of 18. We accept both medically and socially complicated patients to treat serious mood, psychotic, personality, substance and neuropsychiatric disorders. All patients are admitted in accordance with Idaho and federal statutes.
Treatment begins with an initial diagnostic evaluation that encompasses a patient’s medication, therapy and psychosocial needs. Treatment methods are patient-centered and evidence-based; and may include psychopharmacology, individual therapy, group therapy, and milieu therapy. We focus on acute stabilization and returning patients to their lives as quickly and safely as possible. When appropriate, a patient’s family or support system can play a key role in the treatment of a patient’s mental health. Patient permitting, the treatment team will involve and support family members during the patient’s hospital stay.
Each patient’s length of stay depends upon the severity of the patient’s symptoms as well as the patient’s progress toward treatment goals (our average length of stay is four days). The treatment team works collaboratively with patients and social workers to develop an aftercare plan that supports the patient’s needs at the time of discharge.
