The Miami-Dade Police Department Airport Operations Bureau maintains a constant state of readiness in response to the needs of passengers as they travel through the Miami International Airport (MIA). The Airport District maintains a dedicated staff of sworn law enforcement and non-sworn personnel, who are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet the needs of the MIA community and the surrounding areas.
The Airport Operations Bureau is comprised of five main components; Administrative Unit, General Investigations Unit, Canine Unit, Special Projects Section, and Uniform Patrol, each headed by a Lieutenant.
