Talbot House Ministries (THM) was founded to be a place of hope for people who had lost hope: the hungry, the homeless, and the poor. We plant seeds of hope with everyone who comes through our doors by meeting their basic needs. Beyond that, we are blessed to be able to facilitate long-term life renewal by showing them a way forward through assistance from the Good Samaritan Free Clinic, Solutions employment program, and multiple affordable housing options.
Programs include:
THM offers on-campus transitional and permanent supportive housing, as well as off-site housing at the Vermont Place Apartments. Tenants continue to receive wrap-around supportive services including case management, employment training, placement, and financial education to promote self-sufficiency.
THM is also a partner of the Continuum of Care overseen by the Homeless Coalition of Polk County. Direct referrals from the coalition (individuals and families needing rapid rehousing) are sent to the Housing Department and are offered assistance based on availability and openings.
*THM serves over 300 meals each day including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
*Twice a week we also offer food pantry services to the community: Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00-10:50 a.m.
*THM provides free-clinic services including primary care and dental services
*THM provides education and counseling for substance abuse, chronic homelessness, and mental illness
