The City of Lafayette Police Department is a contemporary law enforcement agency that has been providing excellent services to the community for over 100 years.
Our department consists of 62.5 (51 sworn, 11.5 civilian) dedicated and talented individuals who operate under a community policing philosophy. This philosophy directs department members to form lasting partnerships with members of the community, providing continuous feedback from the community to the police department. This two-way communication results in an outstanding relationship with the community and a high level of responsiveness to community needs and concerns.
