UNICEF  has been present in Uruguay since 1992, working to promote the rights of children and adolescents and create opportunities for all, especially the most vulnerable, to achieve their full potential. To achieve this, it provides technical cooperation and financial assistance; shares international experiences and innovative proposals for problem-solving; and works alongside public institutions, civil society, businesses, academia, the media, and the general public.

Using the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) as its guide, UNICEF works in Uruguay in various areas: early childhood, protection against violence, education, health, access to justice, the right to grow up in a family, social policies, social mobilization, and fundraising. In addition, UNICEF responds to emergency situations around the world, reaching the areas most affected by war and natural disasters with vital resources quickly and efficiently.
