Godmothers for Life is a Catholic NGO founded at the feet of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico. There, our founder and director, Marta Grego, attended what was called “The Guadalupe Appeal” with her husband. The Pontifical Council for the Family convened all those who work for the defense of life. Cardinal López Trujillo spoke of the urgency of doing something concrete to promote the civilization of life.
There, before Our Lady of Guadalupe, protector of unborn children, the commitment to fight for the lives of these children was born, helping very young mothers at risk of miscarriage and in situations of extreme social vulnerability. To this end, the organization carries out various activities such as providing support, containment, and counseling to pregnant women.
Through Godmothers for Life, we aim to help save the lives of unborn children and discourage abortion, meet the emotional and material needs of pregnant young women, and teach mothers skills and abilities that will help them work and face life with dignity.
We work voluntarily, relying on the selfless love of the godmothers who help and the humble love of those who allow themselves to be helped. But above all, our guide on this path is Mary of Guadalupe, the pregnant Virgin, who carries Jesus in her maternal womb, the gentle protector of unborn children.
