The Hogar La Huella farm was founded in 1975 by a group of young students of the Jesuit Fathers, who sought to create a home for children abandoned by their parents and who came from families in situations of social vulnerability.
Children and adolescents live at the Home, accompanied by a team of educators, a social worker, and a psychologist. Through emotional and psychological support, the goal is to rebuild bonds (with family and others) and develop personal projects within a group setting that will help children grow in autonomy and independence, taking charge of their own lives. They are prepared for integration into society through daily life, values training, formal education, and work experience in rural and/or urban settings.
Since 2001, the “La Huellita” Children’s Club has been operating in La Huella, serving 50 boys and girls. Since early 2004, the “Los Periquitos” CAIF center has been operating with 70 children and their families. All of these programs aim to promote the comprehensive development of their participants, enabling them to dignify their lives and actively participate in shaping their personal and social lives.
