The National Fire Department (DNB) of Uruguay is a technical-professional institution with jurisdiction throughout the country, responsible for preventing and combating fires and disasters, as well as issuing regulations regarding fire risks and collaborating with police or judicial authorities when required.
In addition, the DNB assumes responsibility for the operations necessary to address disasters, adopts preventive measures to prevent fires and their spread, and disseminates and teaches technical procedures to prevent and avoid disasters.
