The hospital was established in 1899. Since 1956, the hospital has been named after Habib Thameur, a tribute to the important role of this character in the independence of Tunisia.

In 1993, it became a public health institution and several missions have been assigned to it as part of its activity, including providing quality care, ensuring good training and carrying out medical research.

The establishment covers an area of ​​10,078 m2, with a covered area of ​​22,000 m2.

Vision

This measure is part of a plan to protect all healthcare personnel and preserve medical equipment, which is the subject of consultation between the supervisory ministry, hospitals and other government departments.
