Banco de Alimentos Puerto Rico is a private, non-profit organization founded with the purpose of alleviating hunger, improving nutrition and the quality of life of the most vulnerable citizens. Operations began in 1988 and is Today a vibrant organization working from a modern facility of 30,600 square feet of storage and 10,000 square feet of offices located in Carolina, in partnership with 130 affiliated organizations.
It distributes food through its organization network reaching the Island with an army of volunteers who have provided thousands of hours of service in the mission to bring food to all corners of the Island. From there, we reach over 1.3 million persons annually as we work tirelessly to achieve the goal of the United Nations postulate, a Puerto Rico Hunger Free.
