The Royal Malaysian Police consists of 137,574 senior police officers, junior police officers and civil servants. This membership reflects the diversity of assignments carried out by the PDRM, from General Tasks which carry out traditional policing duties and are always at the side of the people, to the General Operations Force which carries out ‘non-regulatory’ tasks such as preventing the entry of illegal immigrants and the war against the rise of communist terrorists in the past.
In carrying out the trust and responsibilities entrusted to it by the people, the PDRM is assisted by a support group consisting of Additional Police, Police Volunteers, Auxiliary Police, Police Cadets and civil servants. This group plays an important role in determining the security and well-being of the country.
