Sayodhya, a non-profit founded by women in 2010, initially operated from private accommodations to support women and children escaping abusive situations without social support systems. In 2014, the GHMC allocated a Community Hall to Sayodhya as part of its night shelter programs. Since its establishment, Sayodhya has transitioned to a dedicated center and has provided emergency shelter to over 3,000 women and their children.
Our Mission
Our Mission is to facilitate safe spaces for women in distress, especially victims of gender-based violence (GBV), vulnerable and marginalised women and create comprehensive support systems by providing essential services including psychosocial counselling support, legal aid support, skill development support to foster empowerment, healing and social integration.
