Maher Ashram’s mission is to identify and understand the root causes of violence and despair experienced by women and children in India. They develop and deliver services to address these root causes and their effects in villages and slums, aiming to ensure that women and children are healthy, happy, and self-reliant. Where possible, Maher supports family reunification by providing services such as personal and spiritual counseling, work training, and more, to support healthy and stable homes. When family reunification is not possible or desirable, they provide safe and loving residential educational and developmental services for children and women.
Additionally, Maher enables sustainable communities by addressing economic, education, health, and environmental issues, focusing on villages and slums. Their values include embracing all people of all faiths, regardless of caste, class, and ethnicity; fostering a spiritually-infused interfaith daily life and operations; offering unconditional love and respect for all; advocating for social justice for all; promoting truth, transparency, and fairness in all interactions and resource distribution; re-awakening personal relationships with Mother Earth; and encouraging lifelong learning and continual re-evaluation and change.
