The Institute on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence is an organ attached to the Ministry of Health, which has independence in its administrative operation and instrumental legal personality, being in charge of the technical direction, study, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of addiction alcohol, tobacco and other licit or illicit drugs, as well as the coordination and approval of all public and private programs aimed at those same purposes, in accordance with said law.
Mission
Contribute within the framework of its guiding and executing responsibilities in the field of drugs, to improve the living conditions of all people in society, through a set of interventions in the promotion of mental health and preventive – assistance aimed at modifying habits, customs and attitudes to discourage drug use and minimize its consequences.
