The Interpreting and Translating Centre (ITC) is a South Australian Government agency employing qualified translators and interpreters experienced in most of the community and commercial languages of South Australia. ITC is a business unit located within the Department of Human Services.

ITC was established in 1975 and is the second oldest government interpreting and translating agency in Australia. ITC provides comprehensive, high quality, efficient, confidential and professional interpreting and translating services and has developed linguistic and technical expertise in more than 100 languages and dialects. ITC has extensive knowledge of the interpreting and translating fields, particularly in South Australia and is highly focused on understanding each client’s individual requirements and providing quality services and products in a timely manner.

Each year ITC undertakes around 70,000 Interpreting and Translating assignments to private and business clients stemming from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

ITC’s goal is to be recognised by our clients, interpreters, translators and competitors as a best practice provider of interpreting and translating services. ITC actively promotes the professional standards of NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) and works in co-operation with AUSIT (Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators).
