The Mount Pleasant Fire Department has provided fire suppression and emergency services since 1837. We have evolved from an organization focused solely on fire fighting to one that leads the way in first response to emergency incidents. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department is deeply involved in the community it serves.
Today, the Fire Department is composed of 134 paid personnel augmented by 3 volunteers. Firefighters work twenty-four hour rotating shifts. The corporate area and its surroundings are served by seven strategically located fire stations. The Fire Department administrative office is located within the Town Municipal Complex.
