Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) is recognized by the State of Ohio as a political subdivision that functions as an Administrator of federal housing assistance programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). AMHA provides rental assistance to eligible low income families in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Putnam and Van Wert counties. Assistance is administered through our Public Housing and Section 8 programs.
Today, AMHA owns 205 scattered site Public Housing units in Allen County in which low income families reside. AMHA also owns Furl Williams Apartments which provides housing assistance to 40 low income elderly or disabled families. Additionally, AMHA provides rental housing assistance to more than 1,000 families in the Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 program.
