For over 40 years, The Foodbank has served as the primary source of food for the hunger relief network in the Miami Valley. The Foodbank – the only one of its kind in the area – relieves hunger in the community through a network of partner agencies by acquiring and distributing food. The Foodbank provides the infrastructure for more than 100 member food pantries, community kitchens, and shelters that serve as the charitable hunger relief network in Montgomery, Greene, and Preble Counties.
The mission of The Foodbank is “Eliminating hunger and its root causes”. This work is accomplished through the daily acquisition and distribution of food across Montgomery, Greene, and Preble counties. We work each day to address the root causes of food insecurity, focusing on three pillar areas of our strategic plan: equity, diversity, and inclusion; advocacy; and reentry. All in the pursuit of making lasting and real change in the Miami Valley.
