Central Mat-Su Fire Department

The Central Mat-Su Fire Department (CMSFD) is also known as Mat-Su Borough Emergency Services District One. CMSFD is the second largest and second busiest fire department in Alaska, after Anchorage. The department operates a combination system of full-time staff, supplemented with paid-on-call responders. There are two sections within the department, fire, and rescue; each with its own funding, membership requirements, and equipment. The department currently has over 125 members which includes 12 full-time staff, explorers and auxiliary volunteers.
